Bio
Standard Issue Pleasure Model
Hailing from Victoria, B.C., Standard Issue Pleasure Model is a heavy hitting psychedelic trip that brings energy, emotion, and technical prowess to their music. Their sound harkens back to the 1970s, with sonic values akin to Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath while maintaining the modern sensibilities of the likes of King Gizzard and Tame Impala. Their words paint images of personal battles with heartbreak, loss, addiction, and mental health through an esoteric lense veiled in mysticism and science fiction - the realm by which their name was conceived.
Since the release of their debut album, '2020', the band has garnered a fiery reputation for themselves in the Victoria music scene via high-octane live shows that never fail to impress. Their spirited guitars and stunning vocals of Shea Morgan and Raine Balson are driven by the powerful precision of Ben DeCicco's drums and the pulsing grooves of Wilson Kyne's bass.
The band recently released their sophomore album, 'Tripsitter'.
Tripsitter is a meditation on psychedelic experiences, addiction, yearning, and self-discovery. With sonic landscapes ranging from aggressive and raucous (Acid Punk & Biig Triip) to lush and relaxed (Call Me Tomorrow & Space Case), Tripsitter paints a quasi-autobiographical picture of the band over the course of the last 5 years.
